While tropical heat and clouds of dust have plagued visitors in past years, the weather was the opposite extreme this time. The cold and especially the persistent rain caused visitors to wade through the mud giving Ostrava the nickname the “Silesian Glastonbury”. However, this did not prevent the more than forty thousand visitors from enjoying the festival to the full, down to the last drop of their soaked shoes.
However, the organizers and technical staff this year faced more than one hurdle this year. “It was the most difficult year in history for us and only thanks to the fact that many people in the organizing team did not even sleep, they were able to manage everything,” said Zlata Holušová, director of the festival. She also especially appreciated the team of sound engineers who kept the first class sound as well as the festival production.
RentalPRO completely technically arranged the ArcelorMitall stage of this presumably most prestigious domestic music festival.
We managed to provide the excellent sound thanks to the great NEXO STM modular system. The basis of it consisted of a 32-module M46 + B112 + M28 on each side, supported by 48 S118 subwoofer modules. For a complete coverage of the entire area in front of the stage, we added 24 additional M28 modules on the sides. The FOH was replaced by Yamaha CL5 consoles. The Avid Profile, Midas 3 and very often the time-proven NEXO 45N12 monitors were controlled by a Yamaha PM5D RH.
It is definitely worth mentioning the excellent JB-Lighting P4 and ROBE Square from the 181 lights. The mood of the lighting was created by a LED Colour WEB.
The LED screens on the sides of the stage as well as other venues on the festival grounds, including the main stage, were provided by our sister company Yventech. There were 340 m² of outdoor LED panels in total.
