The soloist of the State Opera in Vienna and the world-famous tenor Ramón Vargas opened the 15th Dvořák Olomouc Festival
The fifteenth annual Dvořák Olomouc festival was opened by a soloist of the State Opera in Vienna, the world-famous tenor of Mexican origin, Ramón Vargas. The excellent South Korean soprano Soo-Yeon Kim also sang with him. Both soloists were accompanied by the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc (http://www.mfo.cz/) under the baton of Leoš Svárovský. In addition to Mozart, the renowned tenor sang arias by Donizetti, Puccini, and Verdi.
Vargas’s performance was arranged for two years by the organizers. For the opening concert they chose the reconstructed Pavilion A at the Flora Exhibition Centre with a capacity of one thousand seats, which is a very good place for acoustics, as was stated by the director of the Philharmonic Orchestra.
We chose the time-tested NEXO GEO S system in conjunction with the InnovaSON Eclipse mixing console for this exciting concert. We captured soloists and the orchestra with 50 Audix SCX1 condenser microphones. RentalPRO took care of the complete technical provision of the event, including the lights and projection.
