Leonard Bernstein’s MASS with Vojta Dyk in the lead role brought this year’s Smetana’s Litomyšl Festival of classical music to life.
Another repeat performance of Leonardo Bernstein’s MASS directed by the Cabanas Brothers with Vojta Dyk in the lead role of Celebrant brought this year’s Smetana’s Litomyšl Festival of classical music to life (http://festival.smetanovalitomysl.cz).
The success of the Czech-Educated composer’s masterpiece of 1971, whose music oscillates between the borders of jazz, soul, rock and classical music, is mainly thanks to Vojta Dyk’s voice mastery. The range, breathing endurance, richness of tone colours, the great pronunciation in all languages and natural acting make him more than the ideal representative of the Celebrant - a person whom Bernstein may have never dreamed of.
RentalPRO provided the complete technology for this unique project from the very start. To provide sound for this challenging production, Yamaha CL5 and CL3 consoles were paired to a cascade together with four RIO stageboxes.
The stand-alone Innovason SY80 monitoring console contains over two dozen personal monitors throughout the scene. About 20 Sennheiser systems with DPA microphones were used for the soloists.
The nearly 8-meters-high stage was lit by JB-Lighting and High End System. Everything was controlled by MA Lighting.
